Unity Sports Boosters Club
Minutes of Meeting August 18, 2011
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, August 18, 2011, in the Middle School cafeteria. President Klusmeyer called the meeting to order with 13 members present.
The secretary’s report from April was approved by Andy Obert and Donna Jansen.
The treasurer’s report was given by Julie McAllister. She reported a beginning balance of $24,798.89 with receipts of $8.19, and disbursements of $7,832.40. The ending balance is $16,974.68. The report was approved by Marcia Cornwell and Paul Littleton.
Membership: current membership is 20
Old business:
· Baseball field: Greg is just waiting to hear from the coaches whether they want the job done or not.
· Badminton tournament – no news.
· Girls’ softball concession stand: roughed in plumbing - getting ready to install plumbing. Trusses are bought and paid for.
· 3 on 3 – Date will be March 10, 2012.
· Trophy cases: should have been here by now, Greg will check on tomorrow.
· Uniform schedule: will follow up with Seth at next meeting.
· Fund raiser: Pam Venvertloh told of Dee-Mack’s successful weight lifting competition, which pays for all their uniforms in all sports.
· After prom: received a thank you note.
New Business:
· Storage of laptops during away games: Sports boosters declared that this was not a Sports boosters issue.
· Pork Chop stand at home football games: We need to find a person or group to take it over. Donna Jansen and Pam Venvertloh volunteered to find workers.
· New membership tables at Meet the Mustangs: Seth will take care of volleyball, and Susan Blickhan will collect memberships before the football scrimmage.
· Sports booster ad in football program: we were not approached this year.
· Memorial for Berdie Guthrie: $25 to North Adams home was approved.
· Meeting schedule for current year: Our next meeting falls on the same night as spirit night, and since the board has changed its meetings to the third Wednesday, it was decided to change the bylaws that meeting times will now be the second Wednesday of the month, July-April.
· Homecoming float: Donna Jansen will head up the committee. $150 budget approved by Seth Klusmeyer and Dianna Rush.
· Golf: Approval of coach stipend postponed to next month.

AD report: Seth’s office has moved up to the High School to allow the doubling of the weight room size. Now we will be looking to get more equipment to fill it! There will still be a ref room there, and eventually there will be a handicap accessible bathroom and showers.
Coach’s reports:
Paul Littleton – golf has 8 boys and 1 girl. They started practice last week. He will be approved at the board meeting tonight. Their first meet is Aug 26.
Seth Klusmeyer - 29 girls out for volleyball. First game is next Tuesday at home. Meet the Mustangs is Fri.
Greg Hildebrand – nothing to report.
Lexi Mayberry- HS basketball cheerleading coach - 10 girls. She asked for $500 for new uniforms. They worked to raise half the money, and are having them made.
Donna Jansen made motion to pay, Marcia Cornwell 2nd. The bill will be due in November.
Ideas for getting more parents here were discussed.
Paul Littleton needs to know where he can get a couple of truckloads of clean sand for track and for a golf sand trap for practice. If anyone knows of any, please contact him.
