Minutes of Meeting August 6, 2014
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, August 6, in the Middle School Cafeteria. President Klusmeyer called the meeting to order with 24 members present.
The secretary’s report was given by Sarah Donley, and approved by Donna Jansen and Brad Voth.
The treasurer’s report was given by Kelly Miller and approved by Kelle Begeman and Brad Begeman.
Membership: current membership is 52.

New business:
Kevin Krietemeyer: Thanked the club for the donation. He has 50 players, 5 seniors. Hopes for 65 next year. He is very pleased with the work the boys have been putting forth this summer at the two camps.
Brad Begeman: Went to Arnold Missouri and JV went 3-2, Varsity 4-1. Played very large schools – no seniors this year.
Rob Kuhn: Currently has 10 each for 7th and 8th grade. Lots of summer activities coming up.
Greg Hildebrand: has been working on the softball field.
Keith Carothers reported good participation in summer ball.
Paul Littleton currently has 7 golfers and hoping for a few more when the season begins.
Rob Kuhn: Took Middle school girls basketball to a couple of shootouts and is ready for the season to begin.
Next meeting will be Thursday, September 11 at 7:00

Old business:
- Discount
card for 2014-15 school year: Christina reported that she has not had a
great turnout so far. There will be a
push on the kids after school starts.
Only two students have come back for more cards. Middle School students will be allowed to
sell once school begins.
New business:
- Football
pork chop stand: Donna Jansen will chair and Wendy Kuhn will assist. Pricing will depend on the price of the chops
from the bar.
- Golf: Christina made a motion to pay the golf coach
as in the past. Lon Cornwell seconded.
7-8 players are committed for this year and the pay is approximately
$1877.
- Meet the
Mustangs Membership sign up: Sara Klusmeyer volunteered to take memberships
at the volleyball game..
- School
Budget support: Brian Kurz gave a brief summary of the budget woes of
recent history. He asked that the club
consider covering a specific cost, such as transportation for all sports.
Richard asked the members to be ready to discuss at the next meeting with the
intention of making a decision by the October meeting.
- Girls
basketball Euchre tournament: September 6, at the legion hall. Cost is $10 per person. 10 rounds will be played. There will also be a 50/50 drawing and silent
auction. Registration begins at 6:30 and
play at 7:00.
- Football
expenses: Christina Meyer gave a list of expenses from football jerseys,
pads and helmets with a total of $9300. She made a motion that in light of the
football team losing their fundraiser with the discount cards, that we give
them $5000 to help with those expenses.

AD Report: Brad Voth: 18 kids out for Middle School baseball. Girls basketball begins September 1.
Christina: Coaches meeting was held before the sports booster meeting this evening. Football can begin practicing on the 11th of August, all other sports may begin on the 15th.
