Old Business:
- Baseball uniforms – half the cost is $2500 for 3 sets for high school and 2 for middle school. Players will provide their own pants.
- Pratt Memorial: Improving the weight room was approved by Terri Pratt. Coach Krietemeyer suggested a weight rack off the top of his head, but will give a list of ideas in a week or two.
- Assistant Football coach stipend: According to Phil Hildebrand, half the salary is $1600. We still don’t know if any other groups are committed to covering the other half. This item tabled until we have a paper request. Coach Krietemeyer wants sports boosters and friends of U4 to pay, and not the parent group, as that could result in a conflict of interest.
- Golf stipend: No request filed, tabled.
New Business:
- Corn Hole set: Shawn Clark is donating a set to sports boosters to use to raise money. Our idea is to raffle at football games. He wanted to advertise, but since we don’t provide advertisements, he is accepting a sign with the raffle. He sells the sets for $175 each. Motions were made to sell raffle tickets for them were made by Tammy Hildebrand and Maria Connoyer.
- Football Cheerleading uniforms: Football cheerleaders have been working hard this summer and have been to two camps and raised over $1400. They are requesting new uniforms and half the cost for ten girls is $1511.75. Motion to pay was made by Donna Jansen and 2nd by Melissa Obert.
- Pork Chop Stand: Home games are Sep. 2, 9, 30 and Oct 14. Donna Jansen has chaired this for six years. Andy Obert will take it over. Sherri Fuller will help and make phone calls.
- Board meeting update from Peggy Duesterhaus: An offer was made to a superintendent applicant, but it was declined. It was then decided to employ an interim supertintendent, who will spread her 100 days of work throughout the year. She is moving to Quincy. Peggy thanked the club for inspiring the new graduation requirement of public service hours, which will help our fund raising events be manned.
- Discount cards: Will be passed out the week before Labor Day. There will be a ten day window in which to sell them. All the same businesses as last year. Frank thinks the lack of incentives hurt sales last year. They were purchased at $1.80 each from the same vendor as last year. 2000 were bought last year and 800 were left over. This year 1800 were purchased.
- Meet the Mustangs membership table: Missy Voth will man at the middle school baseball game.
