Unity Sports Boosters Club
Minutes of Meeting February 16, 2011
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in the Middle School Cafeteria. President Goertz called the meeting to order with 11 members present.
The secretary’s report from January was approved by Keith Carothers and Wendy Kuhn.
The treasurer’s report was given by Julie McAllister. She reported a beginning balance of $19,609.37 with receipts of $1,804.98, and disbursements of 249.34.
The ending balance is 21,165.01. The report was approved by Susan Blickhan and Donna Jansen.
Membership: current membership is 81
Old business:

Softball and baseball fields: baseball field just waiting on weather - softball field needs better dirt.
·
trophy case - figures - both together are $2,278 - $1,266 for the 5 ft and $1,012 for the 4 ft. $253 per foot. Donna Jansen made motion to purchase both, seconded by Wendy Kuhn.
·
trivia night - have 14 teams! They are excited about it! Golf team is doing the dinner. Sports boosters is providing the supplies for the meal. Silent auction items include a stadium seat, season pass, Girls' basketball has a signed ball. Wendy will be the DJ. Workers are welcome if you don't have a team.

3 on 3 Greg, Tammy and Seth - Advertising is done- forms have been mailed out. Greg will begin calling for officials soon. $1500 of ads so far,
t-shirt design is done. Clean up committee – Seth is planning to talk to coaches about getting a crew together. Last years' number of teams was 87.
New Business:

After prom donation: Julie McAllister made motion to keep donation at $350, Keith Carothers seconded.
·
Baseball uniforms: $1500-2000 for half the cost.
·
Baby gift– Donna Jansen suggested a baby gift would be appropriate for Seth Klusmeyer as he does many things for the group. Suggestion for $50 to Wal-Mart motion made by Andy Obert and seconded by Julie McAllister.

Softball field – Andy Obert is looking for donation toward softball field improvements - to have permanent concession stand and concrete under the bleachers. By next meeting he hopes to have more definite figures.
AD report: Seth not present.
Coach' s reports:
Greg – 8th grade ended their season - 5th & 6th still going on -tournaments and some games into March - good numbers in both of those classes.
Carothers - Playing pretty good ball lately - 5 game winning streak - Sr. night went well last night. We play Brown Co. Fri. Regionals begin Mon. vs.
Payson. Tough regional - have to play good ball to get through it.
