Unity Sports Boosters Club
Minutes of Meeting July 14, 2013
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Sunday, July 14, in the Middle School cafeteria. President Klusmeyer called the meeting to order with 15 members present. The July meeting was necessary to learn about fundraising and the club’s expected contribution in the coming year.
First the club heard a presentation by Scott Westhaus (217-653-4428), the representative from the discount card company. He showed the prizes offered to students who sell 10, 20 and more cards, and lined up appointments with present coaches to hand them out to the athletes. We will get 60% of the profit. Kick off date is July 15, hoping to sell at the fair, and through the beginning of school.
Superintendent Kurz also came to answer some questions concerning the monies needed to support the athletics for the coming year. He indicated that 50,000 would be a very helpful amount for Sports Boosters to contribute.
The secretary’s report was given by Sarah Donley, and approved by Sue Woodworth and Tammy Hildebrand.
