Minutes of Meeting November 12, 2014
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, November 12, in the Middle School Cafeteria. President Klusmeyer called the meeting to order with 13 members present.
The secretary’s report was given by Sarah Donley, and approved by Craig Burwinkel and Tammy Hildebrand.
The treasurer’s report was given by Kelly Miller and approved by Peggy Duesterhaus and Paul Littleton.
Membership: current membership is 82.
Old business:
· Discount card for 2014-15 school year: Actual profit was $5800.
· Football pork chop stand: Had $732 profit for the year.
· MVIT: Marcia Cornwell: ticket takers, Thomas Donley: music, Sue Woodworth: scorers, Looking for someone to find rope holders. Seth will contact Mrs. Lucie about FFA kids helping with parking. Richard will find gym ambassadors, Richard and Seth drinks and granola bars for players, Sherri Fuller pizza. Holly & Melissa Hospitality room, Hall of Fame reception: Steven Adair. Country Financial will again be the sponsor.
· Picnic fundraiser: Bernie Woodworth said that the fairgrounds would be available for this. Richard has spoken to some about the raffle and ideas for it.
· Trivia Night: Motion was made for the golf team to provide the meal for $500 plus expenses. Andy Obert made the motion and Craig Burwinkel seconded.
New business:
· Chili cook off: Tammy Hildebrand has the Legion Hall reserved for Sunday, December 7 from 1-4 p.m. There will be two prizes, best chili, and people’s choice. There is a a$5 entry fee. Drinks must be purchased there. Everything will be donated. Andy Obert made the motion to proceed and Wendy Kuhn seconded.
· Popcorn sales: Craig Burwinkel suggested taking orders for Osage Beach flavored popcorn as a fundraiser. Camp Point sold it a few years ago and made about $1500. Orders will be filled within 2 weeks. Wendy Kuhn made a motion to seek approval of the AD and Julie Whitaker seconded. Seth will check with both Brad & Christina.
AD Report: Christina filled us in on the profit for the discount cards, but had no further AD report.
Coaches reports:
Brad Begeman: at practice, but submitted his report – JV/Varsity girls basketball has a total of 18 girls playing. They have been practicing for a week, and they have been very competitive practices. There are no seniors, so the team will be very young for one more year. They open at West Hancock November 18th.
Next meeting will be Wednesday, December 3, at 7:00
