October 11, 2017 meeting minutes
The Unity Sports Booster Club met on Wed. Oct. 11th @UMS cafeteria. There were 21 members present for the meeting.
The secretary report was given by Missy Voth. Approved by Marcia Cornwell and seconded by Sommer Stiefel.
The treasurer report was given by Sommer Stiefel. Approved by Marcia Cornwell and seconded by Maria Connoyer.
Membership:61members
Old Business:Discount cards cards are continuing to be sold at sporting events.
Football porkchop stand has been very successful.
Homecoming- thank you to all who participated with our float.
Basketball backboards- Coach Carothers and Coach Luke Maynard presented the offer of replacing the backboards. Coach Carothers will send the info to Mr. Riddle to be on board agenda. Discussion was made to pay for whole amount. Marcia Cornwell motioned to pay amount..Sherri Fuller seconded
Casino night- committee getting lots of donations for prizes. Still needing workers. Selling prepaid tickets at all home sporting events. There has been 30-35 prepaid tickets sold already.
New Business:
MVIT will be held 12-27 through 12-29-17. There are 8 teams. The following people will be in charge of finding workers for these jobs:
Rope holders:Missy Voth
Hospitality Room: Holly Klusmeyer
Team Snacks: Richard Klusmeyer
Announcers/clock/book keepers- frank Cash
Tickets- Marcia Cornwell
Bus Parking: going to ask Conner McGaughlin about Football players helping out.
We will discuss programs for the tournament next meeting.
Athletic Director's Report:
Volleyball regionals next week at jacksonville Routte
Football Senior Night on friday 10-13-17.
Cross Country going well.
MS Cross Country- Zach Steinkamp going to state.
Golf- Gage Moller and Grant Ohnemus going to sectionals
MS Girls BB- 7th 6-1 8th 6-0
MSBB- season starts with Rex Truebe Colt Classic
Coaching Report:
MS boys BB- Coach Maynard says there are 12 8th graders, 10 7th graders, and 4-5 6th graders trying out.
HS Boys BB- Coach Carothers says open gyms are going well with the few kids they have right now.
HS girls BB- start practice October 30th. Coach Begeman says girls are ready to go. No Unity tournament this year. They will be going to Beardstown tournament instead.
Motion made to adjourn by Maria Connoyer and seconded by Sue Woodworth.
