Minutes of Meeting September 14, 2011
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, in the Middle School cafeteria. President
Klusmeyer called the meeting to order with 21 present.
The secretary’s report from August was approved by Susan Blickhan and Bob Venvertloh.
The treasurer’s report was given by Julie McAllister.
She reported a beginning balance of $16,974.68 with receipts of $777.24, and disbursements of $2,365.29. The ending balance is $15,386.63. The
report was approved by Sue Woodworth and Marcia Cornwell.
Membership: current membership is 54.
Old business:
Girls’softball concession stand: sewer and water are still coming.

Trophy cases: are in.

Pork Chop Stand: Has been very successful – 132-129 per /week.
Four people to work it works the best. Homecoming is covered already. Will accept any help. Arrive at
6:30. On the menu are pork chops, chips, water. After Prom committee is selling caramel
apples.

Homecoming float: Will start 7:00pm Friday.
The theme is literature - our float will be Dr. Seuss.
·
Golf Coach: we need to pay the full amount with annual pay increase. $1773 was
what was paid last year. Motion to pay golf coach made by: Peggy Duesterhaus, Sara Klusmeyer 2nd.

Coach attendance of sports booster meetings: word needs to get out officially to all.
New Business: ·
Berdie Guthrie: Thank you note was received.
·
MVIT: Donna Jansen will again chair. HOF selections are being discussed.
·
Cheerleaders: Courtney Rees spoke for the basketball cheerleaders, asking for support in the event that they compete at
state level.
AD report: Activity buses are here - golf is using tonight - anyone can drive it. 14 passengers fit.
They are handicap accessible.
Coach’s reports:
Brad Begeman there are 15 5th grade girls 16 girls in 6th. 7th and 8th are working hard and
varsity girls are doing a poster like the boys - should be in in a couple of weeks.
Seth Klusmeyer - Varsity VB is 7-2 JV 4-3, varsity won southeastern tournament.
Last thoughts:
Susan Blickhan says the football bathrooms are gross and badly in need of painting. Peggy
will check with board - it's on the janitorial list to take care of. Seth will check with Mr. Dorethy.
Marcia Cornwell volunteered to head the ticket taking for MVIT again.
