Unity Sports Boosters Club Minutes of Meeting September 19, 2012
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, September 19, in the Middle School cafeteria. President Klusmeyer called the meeting
to order with 14 members present.
The secretary’s report from August was approved by Greg Hildebrand and Susan Blickhan.
The treasurer’s report was given by Julie McAllister. She reported a beginning balance
of $20,092.04 with receipts of $4,296, and disbursements of $991.54. The ending balance is $23,396.50. The report was approved by Donna Jansen
and Pam Venvertloh.
Membership: current membership is 14.
Old business:

Hall of fame plaques: Hof committee will meet within the next month to start on
the coming year.

MS Trophy Case: no news.
·
Fixing High School Gym scoreboard: still having
problems.
·
Pork Chop Stand: has gone well with $400 total profit so far, after 2 games, 1
being homecoming.

The CD has been renewed
·
Cheerleading Uniforms: payment of $492 approved by Sue Woodworth and Donna Jansen
New business:

Team uniform sizes: Tammy Hildebrand brought up the issue of uniform sizes being ordered for the current players, without regard for future years. There is a
form that is not currently being filled out. Julie McAllister has copies. The standard should come from the AD.
The team asking for money for uniforms should have half the funds currently available. The form will be obtained from Julie and Sarah Donley will post to the
website.

MVIT: issues to be checked on include contacting the sportsmens club for parking, committee assignments, workers may need to be reassigned due to graduation of
students, hospitality room location, music player, football parents’ meal.

Softball field: Greg Hildebrand gave a report on the current state of the field,
which causes puddling toward home plate and into the dugouts. It needs major work, which needs to be
done before the next meeting for the grass to be successful for the coming spring. He asked for $2500 to
cover the materials needed to achieve this. It has been discussed with Mr. Dorethy
and the school needs to be informed of the work being done. Need to check on grants available for safety as with the boys fence. Softball should be eligible for a
new wireless scoreboard next year. Motion for $2500 toward softball field renovation made by Greg, 2nd
by Sherri Fuller.
No AD report
Coaches reports:
Asbury: JV won Monday 14-12 in overtime. We won the homecoming game Friday.
Next game is at Triopia, ranked 3rd in the state.
Begeman: 5thand 6th grade currently has 30 players, 1st game is tomorrow at
Nauvoo. 7th and 8th grades both won their first games at Brown County, playing 5th and 6thgrade teams.
7th grade looked good at times, 8th grade played a reckless game. New uniforms are not in yet, but total will be $2150 for
half.
Woodworth: Varsity volleyball is 8-4, improving every night.
MS volleyball starts in November, and needs an assistant
coach.
Littleton: Golf –Will Klusmeyer won last night at Hamilton.
MS boys baseball ended 8-12, played very well against Pittsfield in the regionals,
and won the Suns tournament.
Mayberry: football is going well and have a mini cheer camp at the end of the
month.
Woodruff : Middle School softball ended 16-1, lost to Payson, then beat them a couple more
times. Will have big numbers in the Spring. Looking to have open gyms for softball.
Hildebrand: Middle school boys basketball starts November 15. We are now class 3a instead of 2a, which means a different regional
assignment.
High School boys basketball players have bee lifting Mon. and Wed. mornings and open gyms are being held Sunday nights.
