Minutes of Meeting December 14, 2011
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, in the Middle School cafeteria. President Klusmeyer called the meeting to order with 17 members present.
The secretary’s report from October was approved by Rob Kuhn and 2nd by Matt Woodworth.
The treasurer’s report was given by Julie McAllister. She reported a beginning balance of $16,723.81 with receipts of $46.98, and disbursements of $1,631.12. The ending balance is $15,139.67. The report was approved by Andy Obert and 2nd by Donna Jansen.
Membership: current membership is 78.
Old business:
· HOF plaques: 2009 and 2010 have been submitted to the framers.
· MVIT: Holly Klusmeyer will head up the hospitality room, assisted by Melissa Obert. Susan Blickhan will head the cheerleading award. Richard Klusmeyer will again head the honorary coaches since Paul Bealor will not be available. The pizza for Thursday night has been ordered. Matt Woodworth has the parking attending covered with two people for each shift. Matthew Walker will play the music. Lexi Mayberry is in charge of the cheerleading hospitality room with help from Tammy Hildebrand. Ronna Rife is available for janitorial duties.
· Youth basketball league: The baskets arrived yesterday. The bill has not yet been received. The extra cost for adjustable baskets was only $40, so that is what was ordered.
New business:
· Thank you from cheerleaders: We received a nice note from the cheerleaders for the money for their uniforms.
· MS volleyball uniforms: Seth has ordered them. Half the cost will be $601.82. Julie McAllister made the motion to pay, and Andy Obert 2nd.
· MS trophy case: Rob Kuhn proposed that the Middle School could use a new trophy case. Seth will coordinate with Greg on getting it.
· Girls basketball tournament: Receipts from thehospitality room came to $90. Andy Obert made motion to pay, 2nd by Donna Jansen.
· Softball concession stand: Construction is underway and should be ready by the first softball game in the spring.
· Trivia night: Tentative date is Feb.11. Motion to proceed with sponsor made by Sherri Fuller, 2nd by Sara Klusmeyer. Andy Obert will be the chair. The rest of the committee will be the same as last year.
AD report: Greg put the net up in front of new scoreboards in the middle school. Congratulated Rob Kuhn on state championship.
Coaches reports:
Karl Asbury: weight room work started a couple of weeks ago.
Lexi Mayberry: Cheerleading competition is Sunday. One cheerleader broke her hand so everything needs to be rearranged.
Rob Kuhn: Very successful 7th grade season, 8th was 17-7. Seth and Sue have a lot to look forward to with volleyball. They had an excellent crowd. HS Varsity girls team 9-1, not sure about JV . Varsity won the Unity tournament.
Greg Hildebrand - 7th and 8th have winning records.
Sue Woodworth: MS volleyball-thereare 24 7th and 18 8th graders. There are good athletes in both grades.
Keith Carothers: Boys varsity basketball: Matthew Duesterhaus and Reed Bentzinger made the all-tournament team at the Suns/QND classic and the team got 2nd in the tournament
