Minutes of Meeting February 12, 2014
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, February 12, in the Middle School Cafeteria. President Klusmeyer called the meeting to order with 15 members present.
The secretary’s report from January was approved by Susan Blickhan and Andy Obert.
The treasurer’s report was given by Julie McAllister and approved by Donna Jansen and Sue Woodworth.
Membership: current membership is 104.
Old business:
· Discount cards: Made $9163 on cards this year, 60% of which was profit. Will invite the man from the company back for April meeting to plan next year’s sales.
· MVIT: Despite fewer teams, the MVIT had very good income this year.
· Trivia night: Currently have 16 teams signed up. The most there have been in the past has been 13. May have to consider moving to a larger location if the event continues to grow. Have been receiving items for the silent auction as well.
· Unity Sportsman Club: Price of the new down marker box is approximately $400, Julie McAllister made a motion to cover half the cost, and Andy Obert 2nd.
· 3 on 3: Date is March 22. Would like to go back to the 2nd week in March. Sue Woodworth will find scorers, Seth Klusmeyer will arrange the brackets, Greg Hildebrand will take care of officials and floor taping. Tammy Hildebrand will handle trophies.
New Business:
· After prom donation: motion made to keep after prom donation to $350 made by Seth Klusmeyer, and Lauren Bentzinger 2nd..
· HS Boys Regional Hospitality Room: Tammy Hildebrand volunteered to head up the hospitality room. IHSA gives funds for food. Motion to cover overage made by Andy Obert and Donna Jansen.
AD report: No ADs present.
Coach reports
Greg Hildebrand – 8th grade made the greatest improvement of any teams he has coached. High school softball – 20 signed up, legally start practice March 3. Freshman class is large 9-10 girls.
Lauren Bentzinger – Girls did very well this week with QND. 8th grade is 3-3, 7th grade is 4-2. 8th grade appreciation is the 27th.
Sue Woodworth – 16 boys are signed up for track, and 12-16 girls.
Brad Begeman – 3rd win vs. Brown County. Play South Fulton Friday for Regional Championship. They are ranked 8th – 10th in state. Girls record righ now is 18-8.
Next meeting will be March 19 at 6:00, for 3 on 3 preparations.
