Unity Sports Boosters Club
Minutes of Meeting October 9, 2013
The Unity Sports Boosters Club met on Wednesday, October 9, in the MS Cafeteria. President Klusmeyer called the meeting to order with 15 members present.
The secretary’s report was given by Sarah Donley, and approved by Donna Jansen and Sue Woodworth.
There was no treasurer’s report given due to a family medical absence.
Membership: current membership is 100.
Old business:
· Discount cards: $2000 has been added by check from Seth to Julie.
· Pork chop stand update: Donna reported that Pam Venvertloh has taken the lead in running. It is going very well – sold out all but first game, and that was held over and sold at the next. For Homecoming, the Pork Producers provided the chops, so that game was all profit.
New business:
· Gift cards: It was discovered that Jerry Ellerman has first dibs on this money making idea and so far it will not work for us.
· MVIT: the program is not nearly as much work anymore as the publisher takes care of the ads.Biggsville dropped out. Brad said Marcia Cornwell will take care of ticket taking again this year. There will be no cheerleading award. Hospitality room – Holly Klusmeyer and Melissa Obert did last year, and will also offer to help with the cheerleading hospitality room.
· Athletes Got Talent fundraiser. 7th and 8th grade sold 12 tickets. There will not be voting on dessert at the meal, the voting will go to the performers.
· MS boys basketball uniforms: 60 uniforms (30 sets) half is $900. Susan Blickhan and Mike Jansen made motions to approve.
· Royal printing promotional items: Sarah Donley indicated that Andrew Asbury would like to attend our next meeting to give us fund raising ideas. She will call him to arrange.
AD report: Brad Voth had nothing to report. Christina Meyer not present.
Coaches’ reports:
Brad Begeman: 5th & 6th are 8-3 and 11-0, losses were very close and in OT. High School starts in a few weeks.
Brad Voth: MS Baseball lost in first round of regionals. Jason Connoyer put new dirt on the baseball field.
Keith Carothers: Season starts in 1 month.
Greg Hildebrand: Parent meeting was tonight, start practicing on the 21st.
Will Klusmeyer qualified for golf sectionals.
Lauren Bentzinger: MS Volleyball starts Dec. 9.
Next meeting will be Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m.
